HERE WE ARE is a group exhibition curated by B&B, which presents new works by six international artists. Colourful paintings, detailed drawings and elaborate prints invite us to reflect on the little things which help us to celebrate our present moment. This carefully selected body of work explores cohesive themes of modern city dwelling, providing us with a sense of renewal.

Untitled by Nelio Acrylic on canvas

Native of eastern France, Nelio is a self-taught artist who began
painting graffiti in the late 90s. Influenced by graphic design,
illustration and architecture, he has developed a mysterious visual
language, composed of cleanly cut symbols, letters, landscapes and
primary geometric forms. This pertinent code communicates like gigantic
hieroglyphs, embedded within the murals he paints throughout the planet.
B&B has worked with Nelio on several occasions and invited him to
complete a giant mural for FEATURE WALLS last year.

Hole In One by Nano 4814 Acrylic on Paper
Nano 4814 (SP) started using the streets in Spain as his creative groundwork in the mid 1990s. Although originally inspired by traditional graffiti patterns, his repertoire soon added iconic and narrative peculiarities, thus developing a creative world of his own on both aesthetic and conceptual levels. Nano's craft nurtures itself from the different creative fields where he works: from design to illustration and from his street interventions to gallery work that allows him to focus on more personal concepts, working on techniques like drawing, installations, sculpture or wall painting. Nano 4814 blessed us with his participation to FEATURE WALLS last year and created a wonderful mural on Rockingham lane in Sheffield city centre.

Untitled by Will Barras Ink on Paper

Will Barras is an artist, illustrator, and animation director who lives and creates in London.

Barras grew up in Birmingham and moved to Bristol to study graphic
design. He became one of a new crop of young artists working in
Bristol's renowned street-art scene. Founding member of the famous
Scrawl collective, his work focusses on representating fluid movement,
unique narrative-driven composition, and line work. Scrawl published a
seminal book in 1999 to document the new movement. Being big fans of Will's work for a number of years we invited him to paint for FEATURE WALLS last year.
He produced an amazing artwork at Wellington car park in Sheffield city centre.

Tropical Molecular by Florence Blanchard 8 colour hand-pulled screenprint

Florence Blanchard is a French painter, muralist and screen-printer
based in the UK. Blanchard began writing graffiti in the early 90s under
the name Ema, and spent ten years based in New York where she graduated
with a PhD from New York University in 2008. Her work is directly
inspired by her training as a scientist and depicts abstracts molecular
landscapes questioning our idea of visual perception.

Co-founder and co-curator at B&B screenprinting studio and gallery
Florence Blanchard curated FEATURE WALLS and international mural festival which took
place in Sheffield in 2016.

Record cover illustration by Kid Acne

Artist, illustrator, print-maker and MC; KID ACNE is a modern day
renaissance man and elder statesman of the UK Street Art scene. Having
first picked up a spray can at the tender age of 12 in the early 1990's,
his formative years were spent painting graffiti, making fanzines and
releasing DIY punk/hip-hop records. The conversion of these interests
informed a more illustrative approach to graffiti, incorporating
influences from skateboard graphics and underground comics, which
culminated in the development of his own inimitable style, first
published in the now seminal Scrawl tome in 1999.

Co-founder and co-curator at B&B screenprinting studio and gallery
Kid Acne curated FEATURE WALLS and international mural festival which took
place in Sheffield in 2016.

Sink Hole by Jonathan Wilkinson Acrylic on wood
Jonathan Wilkinson was born in Leeds, grew up in Nottingham and now lives in Sheffield. After graduating from Sheffield Hallam University in 2001 with a degree in Painting and Printmaking he began working as a graphic designer. In 2007 he launched his website ’We Live Here’. His distinctive style soon led to him acquiring a local following, which now stretches far beyond Sheffield. For the past five years the main focus of his work has been on urban landscapes and architectural landmarks. A long time and favourite collaborator of B&B, we are excited to welcome back Jonathan for this new exhibition.
